How to Set Up TiviBridge IPTV on a MAG or Formuler Box

Step-by-step setup

1. Find the MAC address

   Turn the box over and read the label on the underside. The MAC address is a 12-character code written in pairs, and on Infomir MAG boxes it begins with 00:1A:79. On a Formuler, open MyTVOnline 3 and the MAC is shown on the portal screen. Take a photo instead of copying it by hand, because one wrong character stops the portal from loading.

2. Send the MAC to TiviBridge

   Message the TiviBridge team on WhatsApp with the MAC address, the box model and whether you want the free 24-hour trial or a paid plan. We link your subscription to that MAC and reply with a portal URL, normally in under 15 minutes. The portal only answers requests from the registered MAC, so a MAG box needs no username or password.

3. Open the portal settings on a MAG box

   Connect the box with an Ethernet cable if you can, then switch it on. When the Infomir start menu appears, choose Settings. On older firmware, press the SET button on the remote instead. Then open System settings > Servers > Portals. You will see empty fields called Portal 1 name and Portal 1 URL, plus a second pair you can leave blank.

4. Enter the portal URL

   Type TiviBridge in the Portal 1 name field. In Portal 1 URL, enter the address exactly as we sent it, including http://, the port number after the colon and the /c/ ending if it is there. The full stop, colon and slash keys sit on the symbols page of the on-screen keyboard. Press OK to save, then go back one level.

5. Set the time zone and restart

   Still in System settings, open the time or regional options and choose your city, such as Berlin, Vienna, Warsaw, Amsterdam or Brussels. A city setting follows summer time automatically, so the programme guide stays aligned with CET and CEST. Then select Reboot portal, or unplug the box for ten seconds. The TiviBridge portal loads in place of the Infomir menu.

6. Or set up a Formuler box

   On a Formuler Z11 Pro Max, Z11 Pro or Z10 Pro, open MyTVOnline 3 from the home screen and choose Add Portal. Enter a nickname and paste the portal URL from WhatsApp, then save and let the portal load. MyTVOnline 3 also accepts an Xtream Codes login, so you can use a server URL, username and password if you would rather not rely on MAC binding.

7. Browse channels and save favourites

   Open TV or Live TV and choose a group such as Germany, Austria, Polska, Nederland or Belgium. Press the favourite key on the remote, marked F or with a star depending on the model, to save a channel. The EPG button opens the programme guide, and the Video Club or VOD section holds the films and series.

MAG vs Formuler vs BuzzTV: which IPTV box to buy

For a simple, reliable receiver, buy a current MAG model such as the MAG 524. If you also want Android apps like TiViMate and streaming services, choose a Formuler Z11 Pro Max or a BuzzTV box. All of them work with TiviBridge. The main differences are the operating system, the login method and the price.

Prices vary by retailer and change often, so treat these figures as a rough guide rather than a quote. Buy from a seller who offers an EU warranty and a European power plug.

A word on the boxes your internet provider gave you. Operator receivers such as MagentaTV boxes from Telekom, Ziggo and KPN boxes in the Netherlands, Proximus and Telenet boxes in Belgium, or Polsat Box and Canal+ decoders in Poland are locked. How MAC-address portal login works

With a MAC portal, the box itself is the key. When a MAG box starts, it contacts the portal URL and sends its MAC address. The server checks that address against active subscriptions and, if it matches, returns the channel list, programme guide and film library. No password is typed on the TV at any point.

This approach has some practical advantages:

• Nothing to forget. Relatives who find apps confusing only ever see the portal. There is no login screen to get wrong.
• Harder to share by accident. The subscription is tied to one physical box, so a login cannot be copied into a stranger's app.
• Fast changes. Moving to a new box means sending one new MAC address. Everything else stays the same.

Using a MAG portal on Android with STB Emulator

STB Emulator turns an Android phone, tablet or Android TV device into a pretend MAG box. It is useful when you already have a MAC-bound subscription and want to test it elsewhere, or when you have no MAG box to hand. Setup follows the same idea as a real box.

1. Install STB Emulator from the Google Play Store and open it.
2. Open Settings, then Profiles, and create a new profile called TiviBridge.
3. Under STB configuration, choose a MAG model such as MAG 250 or MAG 254, then note the MAC address the app shows.
4. Under Portal settings, paste the portal URL, then send us the emulator's MAC on WhatsApp so we can bind it.
5. Restart the app. The portal loads just as it would on a real MAG box.

The emulator is handy, but its menus were built for a MAG remote and feel slow on a touchscreen. On Android TV, a native player such as TiViMate is usually smoother with the same subscription.

Keeping a MAG or Formuler box running smoothly

A few habits keep a set-top box stable for years. Install firmware updates when the box offers them, since Infomir and Formuler fix playback bugs regularly. You can read the release notes on the Infomir support site and on Formuler's website.

• Use Ethernet for 4K. Most European homes now have fibre or cable lines fast enough, but Wi-Fi through two walls often is not.
• Restart the box once a week if you leave it in standby. It clears the cache and reloads the guide.
• Set a parental PIN in the portal settings if children use the TV, and lock adult or late-night groups.
• Keep the remote's favourite list short. Twenty channels from Das Erste, ORF 1, TVP1 or NPO 1 are faster to reach than scrolling through 25,000+.

Common errors and fixes

Your STB is blocked or not supported

The portal does not recognise the MAC address it received. Compare the MAC on the label with the one you sent us, character by character, and tell us on WhatsApp if they differ. Once we correct the binding, reboot the box. The same message can appear if an old portal entry is still saved in Portal 2, so clear that field too.

Stuck on the loading portal screen

A typo in the URL or a blocked port is the usual cause. Recheck http://, the port number and the slash at the end. Test with an Ethernet cable and restart your router. Some home and office networks in Germany, Belgium and elsewhere filter less common ports. If yours does, ask us for an alternative address.

Programme guide is one hour out

The box time zone is set to a fixed UTC offset or is missing summer time. Choose a city in the time settings rather than a number, so the move to CEST on the last Sunday of March and back to CET in late October happens without your help. Reboot the portal after the change.

Picture freezes on 4K channels

Old MAG 250 and MAG 254 boxes cannot decode 4K HEVC streams, so switch to the FHD version of the channel on those. On a MAG 424 or 524, use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and check that your line still delivers 25 Mbps at peak evening hours. Our buffering guide covers router settings in more detail.

Formuler shows an authentication error

MyTVOnline 3 uses the Formuler's own MAC, not the one from a MAG box you owned before. Send us the MAC displayed inside MyTVOnline 3, wait for our confirmation, then delete the portal and add it again. If you switched to an Xtream Codes login, recheck the username and password for capital letters.
