Legality and your responsibility
IPTV as a technology is legal and widely used by broadcasters themselves. Whether a particular service is lawful depends on whether it holds the rights to what it streams. The Court of Justice of the EU has ruled, in the Filmspeler case (C-527/15), that knowingly streaming from unlicensed sources is not protected by the temporary-copy exception.
