How to Set Up TiViMate with Your TiviBridge Login

Step-by-step setup

1. Install TiViMate

   On Google TV, Android TV and Nvidia Shield, open the Google Play Store, search for TiViMate IPTV Player and install it. TiViMate is not in the Amazon Appstore, so on a Fire TV stick you first install Downloader and then fetch the APK from the developer's official address. Open the app once the installation finishes.

2. Choose Add playlist

   The first screen shows a single button, Add playlist. Select it and TiViMate offers several playlist types, including Xtream Codes and M3U playlist. Choose Xtream Codes. It loads live channels, films, series and the guide in one go, and it keeps your account expiry date visible in the playlist settings.

3. Enter server, username and password

   Type the server address from your TiviBridge WhatsApp message, including http:// and the port. Press Next, then enter the username and password on the screens that follow. Type carefully with the remote, as TiViMate reads capital letters exactly. When the check succeeds, the app shows how many channels, films and series it found.

4. Name the playlist and finish

   Give the playlist a clear name such as TiviBridge, then choose Done. TiViMate now builds the channel list and downloads the programme guide from the same server. The first load takes one to three minutes on a Fire TV Stick 4K, and a little less on a Shield or a Google TV Streamer.

5. Hide the groups you never watch

   With 25,000+ channels, the full list is long. Open Settings > Playlists, select TiviBridge and choose Manage groups. Untick groups you never watch and keep, for example, Germany, Austria and Polska. Hidden groups stay on the server, so you can switch them back on later without reloading the playlist.

6. Check the EPG and time offset

   Press the centre button while watching and open TV guide. If programme titles do not match what is on screen, go to Settings > EPG and choose Update EPG. If every programme is shifted by an hour, first make sure the device time zone is your own city, then use the EPG time shift option in the same menu.

7. Unlock Premium with TiViMate Companion

   Install TiViMate Companion on an Android phone from Google Play and create an account. Buy the yearly or lifetime Premium licence inside Companion. Then, in TiViMate on the TV, open Settings > Account and sign in with the same Companion account. One Premium account can be used on up to five devices.

8. Add favourites and start watching

   With Premium active, highlight a channel and hold the centre button to open its menu, then choose Add to favourites. Favourites appear as their own group at the top of the list. Press left in the guide to switch groups, and press OK on a programme to watch it, record it or set a reminder.

TiViMate free vs Premium

Free TiViMate is enough to watch live TV with a proper guide. Premium adds the features that make it feel like a full TV service: favourites, catch-up, recording, reminders and more than one playlist. The licence is paid to the app developer, AR Mobile Dev, and has nothing to do with your TiviBridge subscription.

Recording and catch-up explained

Catch-up and recording both let you watch a programme later, but they work differently. Catch-up plays a copy kept on the server, so nothing is stored on your device. Recording saves the stream to your own storage while it airs. Both need TiViMate Premium.

Catch-up

Channels with an archive show a small icon in the list. Move left in the guide to a past programme and press OK. This is ideal when a Champions League game kicks off at 21:00 and you get home at 21:30. Archive length varies by channel.

Recording

Choose a storage location under Settings > Recording. A USB stick or drive formatted for Android works well on a Shield or Google TV box. Fire TV sticks have little internal space, so keep recordings short there. Remember that each recording uses one connection while it runs, so pick a plan with enough screens.

Getting the programme guide right

TiViMate loads the guide automatically when you log in with Xtream Codes. With an M3U playlist you add the guide address yourself, under Settings > EPG > EPG sources. Either way, a correct time zone on the device is what keeps programme times accurate.

• Time zone: set the Android device to your city, such as Berlin, Vienna or Warsaw. It then switches between CET and CEST by itself.
• Update interval: in Settings > EPG, a daily update is enough for most people and saves bandwidth on slower sticks.
• Days to keep: fewer days of guide data make scrolling faster on older hardware.
• Missing data: small or regional channels sometimes have no guide. That is normal and does not affect playback.

TiViMate Companion and where TiViMate runs

TiViMate runs only on Android TV devices. That covers the Fire TV family, Google TV, the Nvidia Shield and Android TV sets from Philips, Sony and TCL, which are common across Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. Companion is its phone app for accounts and payment.

Common errors and fixes

Error loading playlist

TiViMate could not reach the server or rejected the login. Check that the server address begins with http:// and includes the port after a colon. Retype the username and password, watching for capital letters and spaces. If it still fails, try the same details in another app to rule out a network block, then message us.

The guide shows no information

The playlist loaded but the EPG did not. Go to Settings > EPG and choose Update EPG, then wait a minute. If some channels stay empty, the guide simply has no data for them. Groups you have hidden still count toward the download, so hiding unused groups also speeds up guide updates.

Catch-up and recording options are greyed out

Both need Premium, and catch-up also needs a channel with an archive on the server. Check that Premium shows as active under Settings > Account. Then look for the archive icon next to the channel name. Channels without that icon cannot be replayed, even with Premium.

Premium does not activate on the TV

The TV must be signed in with the same account you used to pay in Companion. Sign out under Settings > Account and sign in again. If you already use Premium on five devices, remove an old one in Companion first. Restart TiViMate after signing in.

4K channels stutter on an older Fire TV stick

First-generation sticks struggle with 4K HEVC. Open Settings > Playback and try a different video decoder, and turn on automatic frame rate matching if your TV supports it. Use the FHD version of the channel on older hardware, and connect with Ethernet if you can.
