How to Set Up IPTV Smarters Pro with TiviBridge

Step-by-step setup

1. Install the app for your device

   On Android phones and Android TV, search for IPTV Smarters Pro in the Google Play Store. If it is not listed in your country, download the official APK from iptvsmarters.com. On iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, install Smarters Player Lite from the App Store. On Fire TV use the Downloader app, and on Windows or macOS take the desktop build from the developer's site.

2. Accept the terms and pick the right layout

   Open the app and accept the terms of use. Recent versions ask whether you are on a mobile device or a TV. Choose TV on a stick or smart TV, because the mobile layout is hard to steer with a remote. If you pick the wrong one, clear the app data in your device settings and start again.

3. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API

   The Add User screen lists several ways to log in. Select Login with Xtream Codes API. It is quicker and more complete than loading an M3U file, because the app receives live channels, films, series and the programme guide as separate sections instead of one very long list.

4. Enter your TiviBridge details

   Type any name in the first field, such as TiviBridge Living Room. Enter the username and password exactly as they appear in your WhatsApp activation message, since both are case-sensitive. In the URL field, type the server address with http:// and the port, for example http://server.example:8080, with no spaces. Then press Add User.

5. Let the first download finish

   The app now downloads the channel list, the film and series catalogues and the guide data. On a fast line this takes under a minute; on an older Fire TV stick it can take three. Do not press Back during this stage, or the app may save a partial list and show empty categories later.

6. Open Live TV and find your country

   From the dashboard, choose Live TV. Categories are named by country and genre, so scroll to Germany, Austria, Poland, Netherlands or Belgium. Select a channel to preview it in the small window, then press OK again for full screen. Long-press a channel and choose Add to Favourites to keep it one click away.

7. Load the programme guide

   Return to the dashboard and choose Install EPG, or open Settings and refresh the EPG by hand. Programme titles then appear under each channel. If every show looks an hour early or late, open Settings > EPG Timeshift and move it by one hour until the guide matches Central European Time.

8. Tune the player for smooth playback

   Open Settings > Player Settings. Start with the built-in player and hardware decoding. If one channel stutters, try the software decoder or set VLC as an external player. Under Settings > Automation, switch on automatic refresh of channels and EPG, so new channels appear without logging out and in again.

Which devices IPTV Smarters Pro runs on

IPTV Smarters Pro runs on Android phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, Windows and macOS. On Apple devices the same developer offers Smarters Player Lite. That wide reach is its main strength: one TiviBridge login can work on the TV, the phone and the laptop with a familiar layout everywhere.

Download the app only from official stores or from the IPTV Smarters website. Modified copies on file-sharing sites are a common source of malware on Android devices.

IPTV Smarters Pro vs Smarters Player Lite

Smarters Player Lite is the Apple edition of the same player. It logs in with the same Xtream Codes details and shows the same live TV, film and series sections. The Android and Fire TV edition, IPTV Smarters Pro, simply has more settings and extras. For everyday viewing, the two feel very similar.

• Login: both accept an Xtream Codes login and an M3U playlist URL.
• Player options: the Android edition lets you choose decoders and external players such as VLC. The Apple edition uses the system player.
• Extras: the Android edition offers more tools, such as Multi-Screen and, on some builds, recording to local storage.
• Updates: each store version is updated separately, so menu names can differ slightly between them.

If you watch mainly on an iPhone or Apple TV, Smarters Player Lite is a sound choice. If you want the full feature set on a TV, pair a Fire TV stick with IPTV Smarters Pro, or look at TiViMate for a more traditional TV guide.

Multi-Screen, EPG and catch-up

Three features make Smarters popular with sports fans and families. Multi-Screen shows up to four live channels at once. The EPG adds a programme guide with titles and times. Catch-up lets you replay recent programmes on channels where the server keeps an archive.

Multi-Screen is useful on a busy Saturday, when Bundesliga, Eredivisie and Ekstraklasa games overlap. Every tile is a separate stream, so four tiles use four connections. Check that your TiviBridge plan covers that number of screens.

The EPG loads from the same server as your channels. Most guide data is published in UTC, so the app converts it using your device's time zone. Set the device to your own city, and the guide follows the switch between CET and CEST each spring and autumn.

Catch-up shows as a clock or archive icon next to a channel. Open that channel and pick an earlier programme from its guide. Not every channel has an archive, so check the ones you care about during your free trial.

The app sells no channels

IPTV Smarters Pro is only a player. It contains no channels, films or subscriptions, and its developer does not sell any. Everything you watch in it comes from the service you log in to. Be wary of anyone selling a "Smarters subscription": they are a reseller of some provider, and you should ask which one.

Common errors and fixes

Invalid username or password

This is nearly always a typo, often a capital first letter added by the phone keyboard. Retype both fields slowly and check for a trailing space. If your free trial or plan has ended, you will see the same message, so check the expiry date in your WhatsApp activation message before trying again.

Server not responding or connection timed out

Make sure the URL starts with http:// and has the port after a colon. Hotel Wi-Fi, office networks and some public hotspots block uncommon ports. Try mobile data or your home broadband. If it still fails at home, message us and we can send an alternative server address.

Categories appear but have no channels

The first download was interrupted. Open the list of users from the dashboard, delete the TiviBridge profile and add it again, or press the refresh icon on the Live TV screen. On sticks with little free storage, clearing the app cache in Android settings also helps.

Films play but live channels buffer

Live streams are less forgiving than on-demand files, which the app can buffer ahead. Change the decoder in Player Settings, connect by Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and restart your router. If your provider slows video in the evening, a VPN on the device may help, as our VPN guide explains.

The app asks me to pay or upgrade

Some store versions show adverts or offer a paid upgrade for extras. That payment goes to the app developer, not to TiviBridge, and it adds no channels. Your TiviBridge login works on the free app, so you can close any upgrade prompt and carry on watching.
