Step-by-step setup
Check which operating system your stick runs
Open Settings, then My Fire TV, then About. A device that can run IPTV players shows a Fire OS version, usually 7 or 8. If the screen shows Vega OS instead, as on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, sideloading is blocked at system level. In that case use another device, such as a 4K Max or an Android TV box, before going further.
Unlock the Developer Options menu
Stay on Settings, My Fire TV, About. Highlight the name of your device, for example Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and press the centre button on the remote seven times. A short notice tells you that you are now a developer. Press Back once and Developer Options appears in the My Fire TV list.
Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore
Go to the home screen, choose Find, then Search, and type Downloader. Select the app with the orange icon published by AFTVnews and choose Get or Download. It is free and sits in the official Amazon store in every EU country. Open it once and allow access to files when Fire OS asks.
Allow Downloader to install apps
Return to Settings, My Fire TV, Developer Options. Choose Install unknown apps and switch Downloader to On. Older firmware shows a single toggle called Apps from Unknown Sources instead; turn that on and confirm the warning. Only Downloader gets this permission, so the rest of the stick keeps its normal protection.
Download the IPTV player
Open Downloader and select the address field on the Home tab. Enter the download link for IPTV Smarters Pro or TiViMate that our WhatsApp team sends with your login, or the link published on the developer website. Press Go. When the file finishes, the Fire OS installer opens by itself. Choose Install, then Done.
Delete the installer file to free space
Downloader now offers to delete the APK file. Choose Delete and confirm. Fire TV sticks have only 8 or 16 GB of storage and much of it is used by the system, so leftover installers slowly cause crashes and failed updates. You can also clear old files later from the Files tab inside Downloader.
Sign in with your TiviBridge login
Open the player from Your Apps and Channels. In IPTV Smarters Pro choose Login with Xtream Codes API; in TiViMate choose Add playlist, then Xtream Codes. Enter the server address, username and password exactly as written in your activation message. The player then loads 25,000+ channels, the programme guide and the film library.
Move the player to the front of the home screen
Press and hold the Home button, choose Apps, then highlight the player and press the Menu button with three lines. Choose Move and place it in the first row. From now on the player opens with two clicks, which makes the stick feel much like the TV box your provider used to rent you.
Test a German, Polish or Dutch channel first
Open the channel group for your home country and play a main channel, such as Das Erste, TVP1 or NPO 1, then a sports channel. Each should start within two or three seconds. Add the channels you watch every day to favourites by holding the centre button, so you rarely need to scroll the full list.
Which Fire TV model to buy in Germany, Austria and Poland
For IPTV in 2026 the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the safest choice: it runs Fire OS, decodes 4K HDR and has enough memory for a channel list of 25,000+ entries. Avoid the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, which runs Amazon's own Vega OS and cannot install outside players. Buy from amazon.de, amazon.nl or amazon.pl, or from an ordinary electronics shop.
Austrian buyers normally order through amazon.de, and Belgian buyers use amazon.nl, amazon.fr or amazon.de. The table shows the current line-up as it stands in autumn 2026. Prices vary by retailer and change often during sales, so treat them as approximate.

Best IPTV app for Fire TV in 2026
IPTV Smarters Pro and TiViMate are the two players most TiviBridge customers use on Fire TV. Smarters is free and puts live TV, films and series in clear tiles. TiViMate has a faster channel guide that feels like a cable box, and its Premium licence adds catch-up and recording. Neither app is in the Amazon Appstore, so both arrive through Downloader.

Wi-Fi vs Ethernet on a Fire TV Stick
Ethernet is more stable than Wi-Fi on a Fire TV Stick, and it matters most during live football. HD channels need about 10 Mbps and 4K needs about 25 Mbps, but the real problem is interference. In a block of flats in Berlin, Warsaw or Rotterdam, dozens of routers share the same airwaves every evening.
The Amazon Ethernet Adapter plugs into the stick's power socket and costs roughly €15–20. The Fire TV Cube has a network port built in. If the router is in another room, a pair of powerline adapters carries the signal through the mains wiring. Where only Wi-Fi is possible, connect to the 5 GHz band and keep the stick on the HDMI extender.

Using a VPN on Fire TV
You do not need a VPN to watch TiviBridge on Fire TV. A VPN can help when your internet provider slows down video traffic at peak times, which some customers report on busy networks. Most large VPN services publish a Fire TV app in the Amazon Appstore, so no sideloading is needed for that part.
Choose a server in your own country or a neighbouring one to keep speed high. A VPN changes your route, not the legal position of what you watch, so it is not a legal shield. Common errors and fixes
Developer Options is missing
On current Fire OS the menu stays hidden until you press the device name seven times under Settings, My Fire TV, About. If it still does not appear, restart the stick from Settings, My Fire TV, Restart and try again. On Vega OS devices the menu does not exist at all.
Downloader shows a parse error or blocks the install
The file was only partly downloaded or the install permission was reset by an update. Delete the file, check that Downloader is still allowed under Install unknown apps, then download it again. A parse error on a very old stick can also mean the player needs a newer Fire OS version.
The player says the login is invalid
Most failures are typing errors. The server address must start with http:// and usually ends in a port number such as :8080. Watch for a capital O typed instead of a zero and for a space after the password. If it still fails, send a photo of the screen to support on WhatsApp.
Football freezes in the evening
Between 19:00 and 23:00 home Wi-Fi is under the most pressure. Move to the 5 GHz band, use the HDMI extender from the box so the stick is not hidden behind the TV, and switch the player to hardware decoding. An Amazon Ethernet adapter removes most remaining pauses.
Picture but no sound through the soundbar
Open Settings, Display and Sounds, Audio, then Surround Sound and choose Stereo or Best Available. Some soundbars cannot decode the Dolby format a channel sends. Inside the player you can also switch the audio track, which helps when a channel offers several languages.

Does IPTV work on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select?
No, not with standard IPTV players. The 4K Select runs Vega OS, which only installs apps from the Amazon Appstore and blocks APK files. Players such as IPTV Smarters Pro and TiViMate are not in that store. Return it within the retailer window if you can, or use a Fire OS model such as the 4K Max.
Is it safe to enable apps from unknown sources?
It is safe when you only install apps you trust. The permission applies to Downloader alone, not to the whole stick. Download players from the developer website or the link our support team sends, never from random forums. You can switch the permission off again once the player is installed.
Which Fire TV Stick is best for IPTV in Germany?
The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the best value for most homes in Germany and Austria. It runs Fire OS, supports 4K HDR and Wi-Fi 6E, and costs around €60 to €80 depending on the retailer. If you want a wired connection built in, the Fire TV Cube is faster but costs roughly twice as much.
Can I use one TiviBridge login on a Fire TV Stick and a phone?
Yes, you can install the player on both and sign in with the same details. A one-screen plan plays on one device at a time. To watch on the stick and the phone together, choose a two-screen plan, which costs €20 for one month or €99 for twelve months.
Why is the IPTV app not in the Amazon Appstore?
Amazon decides which apps its store lists, and it does not carry general IPTV players in European stores. That is why Downloader is used instead. Downloader itself is a normal app in the official store, and installing a player through it is the standard method on Fire OS.
Will a Fire OS update remove my IPTV player?
Usually not. Updates keep your installed apps, login and favourites. Occasionally an update switches off the install permission for Downloader, which only matters when you add or update a player. If that happens, turn it back on under Settings, My Fire TV, Developer Options.
